Lebanese leaders laud the assistance of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the Lebanese army

Beirut, Shawwal 11, 1435, Aug 7, 2014, SPA -- A number of prominent Lebanese leaders lauded the $1b worth of assistance offered by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to the Lebanese army and other security forces to face terrorism. Former leader of Al-Kataeb party Ameen Al-Jumayel said in a statement that the assistance would play a pivotal role in the support of the army more and more, thanking the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for this initiative which he always makes without special reward, Al-Jumayel added. Commenting on the gesture, he said the Lebanese arena has, as everybody knows, become subject to what happens on the Syrian and Iraqi territories, thus jeopardizing the future and entity of Lebanon, including its borders. He suggested the unity of Lebanese factions to defend the sovereignty of the country, noting that if things aggravated nobody would go safe. For his part, former Cabinet member Talal Al-Murebi said it is not the first time the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques provides support for Lebanon and its institutions for the sake of stability and security of this important country. He expressed sadness for the loss of a number of army officers and soldiers by terrorists, calling on everybody to defend the march of peace and stability and the people's legitimate institutions, led by the armed forces. Mustafa Al-Hakeem, leader of Al-Najada party lauded the monarch's assistance to enable the army to liberate the areas occupied by the Takfiris. He said the support for Lebanon is one of the Saudi policy's pillars, noting that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was always calling for the unity of Lebanese factions as well as Arab and Islamic peoples against the current challenges facing their entity.
