Washington, Shawwal 23, 1435, Aug 19, 2014, SPA -- President of the Saudi Press Agency "SPA" Mr. Abdullah Bin Fahd Al-Hussein has inspected the agency's office in Washington, DC, which covers the news of North and South Americas in addition to the news of the United Nations and its affiliates. The president met with director of the office of "SPA" in Washington Nizar Hamza Sheikh and the employees of the office and looked at different sections of the office, included editing, recording TV programs, imaging and computer. He listened to an explanation of the work of each section and the services they provide in addition to different news sources of the office and direct coverage carried out by it. Following the tour, the president met with the administrative and editorial staff of the office. He praised their efforts in reporting the news, and urged them to exert more efforts to keep up with developments and modernization witnessed by "SPA" in various departments and stressed the importance of making use of modern communication techniques and means to support the work of the agency and the delivery of news, information and images with the required speed and accuracy which put the agency in the ranks of major international news agencies. President of SPA explained future steps and plans of the agency which keep pace with all that is new in the world of communication and media, while maintaining its gains, in addition to its sponsorship of activities and various festivals, and coverage of their activities with news and pictures, as well as participation in establishment of exhibitions of photographs contained in the archives and the information center in response to the many requests it has received from various government and private agencies in which "SPA" focuses on highlighting the advances and the civilization development witnessed by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in various fields. --More 13:24 LOCAL TIME 10:24 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
