Islamabad, Shawwal 12, 1435, Aug 8, 2014, SPA -- Pakistan on Friday handed over an Indian paramilitary trooper who was swept by a river this week to the other side of the heavily militarized border. Border Security Force trooper Satysheel Yadav was part of a team patrolling the Chenab River in Indian-administered Kashmir. But the motorboat engine malfunctioned and he was swept away by a strong current into the Sialkot area of Pakistan's eastern province of Punjab. He was picked up by the paramilitary Pakistan Rangers and held for questioning, but released as a goodwill gesture. A Rangers' official said the soldier was handed over to Indian security officials, and broadcast footage showed him walking across the border into India. Yadav told Pakistani media before being handed over to the Indians that he was treated well, according to dpa. -- SPA 18:08 LOCAL TIME 15:08 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
