Amman, Rajab 27, 1435, May 26, 2014, SPA -- Jordan's Anti-Narcotics Department personnel foiled an attempt to smuggle in five million drug pills, according to the Public Security Directorate (PSD). The Directorate's media center said in a press release that the Anti-Narcotics Department responded to a tip-off received earlier about a huge quantity of drugs concealed inside a number of hydraulic hoses in order to be smuggled to one of the neighboring countries, Jordan News Agency (Petra) reported. "An investigating team was able to identify the suspects and the place and mode of smuggling," the press release added, noting that 35 hydraulic hoses stuffed with large quantities of narcotic pills were seized after inspecting a cargo vehicle heading for a border crossing point. The smuggled items and persons involved in the smuggling attempt were referred to concerned authorities for questioning. --SPA 22:34 LOCAL TIME 19:34 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
