Brussels, Ramadan 25, 1435, Jul 22, 2014, SPA -- EU foreign ministers agreed Tuesday new sanctions against the Syrian regime, targeting three people and nine entities for their involvement in the country's enduring conflict, dpa reported. The EU ministers justified Tuesday's move by pointing to the "gravity of the situation in Syria." The three blacklisted people will be banned from traveling to the EU and will have any funds they may have in the bloc frozen. The entities also face asset freezes. The targets will not be identified until Wednesday, when the new sanctions come into effect. --SPA 13:03 LOCAL TIME 10:03 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
