Washington, Ramadan 4, 1435, Jul 2, 2014, SPA -- Crews worked through the night to build containment lines around a wildfire in rural northern California that has burned more than 10 square kilometers, damaged five buildings, and prompted mandatory evacuations. State fire spokeswoman Stacie McCambridge said the wildfire began shortly before noon Tuesday in the Pope Valley area of Napa County. It grew to nearly 1,100 hectares by late Tuesday. State and county firefighters spent the day working in hot weather as they contained 30 percent of the blaze. McCambridge said several residents living in two communities have been evacuated because almost 200 homes are threatened. No injuries have been reported, and the cause of the fire is unknown. --SPA 18:12 LOCAL TIME 15:12 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
