Jakarta, Sha'ban 6, 1435, Jun 4, 2014, SPA -- Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott were to meet Wednesday as the two countries sought to mend ties strained by spying revelations, dpa reported. They were scheduled to hold talks on the Indonesian island of Batam, just south of Singapore, during a brief stopover on Abbott's way to Europe. Indonesia recalled its ambassador to Australia in November in protest over the spying allegations. Abbott called Yudhoyono last month to arrange Wednesday's meeting after he cancelled plans to meet the president in Bali. Indonesian Ambassador Nadjib Riphat Kesoema returned to Australia last week in a sign of thawing relations. --SPA 12:58 LOCAL TIME 09:58 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
