Cairo, Ramadan 18, 1435, July 15, 2014, SPA -- Prince Abdulaziz bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia stressed that what is happening today in the Gaza Strip is a shame on the forehead of humanity. He said in his speech in front of the emergency meeting of Arab foreign ministers, which was held yesterday at the headquarters of the Arab League in Cairo to discuss the repercussions of the Israeli aggression on Gaza, “It is a shame on effective international powers due to their failure to protect the Palestinian people from Israeli bombings and ground operations launched by the occupation forces." The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs asked, "Is the number of 172 martyrs and more than 1,000 injured persons until today does not wake up the conscience of the world?", stressing the need to take immediate and serious action from international powers and world peace-loving peoples to support the Palestinian people in Gaza. The Prince said, “We, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, are aware of the size of this tragedy in all its dimensions; and in recognition of his responsibility towards our brothers in Palestine, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has directed to provide urgent assistance to the Palestinian Red Crescent with an amount of SR 200 million to provide humanitarian assistance, medical needs and food." Prince Abdulaziz bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz reaffirmed the Kingdom's commitment to provide what it can to support the Palestinian people through the Arab League to put an end to this aggression. --SPA 11:49 LOCAL TIME 08:49 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
