The official spokesman of the General Authority for Civil Aviation Khalid Abdullah Al-Khaybari pointed out in a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) that the main objective of the overall expansion at the airport is to develop a second gate next to King Abdulaziz International Airport, considering the new international airport as a vivid example embodying the partnership between the public and private sectors, noting that the capacity of the airport will increase to 8 million passengers per year as a first stage.
