New Delhi, Sha'ban 10, 1435, Jun 8, 2014, SPA -- China's foreign minister was in New Delhi to meet with his Indian counterpart Sunday as the two Asian giants seek to strengthen their relations, dpa reported. Wang Yi told the Hindu newspaper that the two countries have more common interests than differences. He said Chinese President Xi Jinping had instructed him to visit India as his special envoy soon after Prime Minister Narendra Modi took office on May 26. Modi's Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party came to power with a convincing majority after general elections held in April-May. Wang will meet with Indian Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj, and later have brief audiences with Modi and President Pranab Mukherjee. "The visit will provide further momentum to India-China strategic and cooperative partnership," India's Ministry of External Affairs spokesman Syed Akbaruddin said. --SPA 11:19 LOCAL TIME 08:19 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
