New planes loaded with tons of relief aid and transporting emergency crews arrived in Türkiye to help in the rescue efforts in wake of the devastating earthquake that struck on Monday. The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (Ksrelief) announced the arrival of three plans in Türkiye. A plane landed in Gaziantep loaded with 104 tons of aid, including food, tents, blankets, mattresses, and medical supplies. Two other planes departed King Khalid International Airport on Friday. They were carrying a Saudi search and rescue team. They are the fourth and fifth aircraft to head to the quake-stricken regions. Meanwhile, donations through Kingdom’s Sahem platform have reached 200 million riyals in two days. Over 600,000 people inside Saudi Arabia have made donations to help those affected by the quake in Türkiye and Syria. The assistance is being carried out in implementation of the orders of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to help the victims, reflecting Saudi Arabia’s humanitarian role. The humanitarian air bridge to stricken regions was launched on Thursday. Two planes loaded with 98 tons of relief goods were the first to depart. KSrelief spokesman Dr. Samer Al-Jetaily said nearly 20 million people in Türkiye and Syria may be in need of aid. Meanwhile, the Saudi embassy in Türkiye announced that the corpse of a national had been retrieved from under the rubble in Antakya where she was residing. She has been identified by her relatives.
