RIYADH — Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Cabinet Member, and Climate Affairs Envoy Adel Bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir met here Monday with Martin Griffiths, representative of the UN secretary-general and under-secretary-general for humanitarian affairs and emergency relief coordinator, on the sidelines of the 3rd Riyadh International Humanitarian Forum. During the meeting, aspects of the existing cooperation between the Kingdom and the UN were reviewed. They also touched on climate change and its effects while highlighting the importance of tackling this phenomenon as well as the Kingdom"s efforts and initiatives in this area. They also discussed the most significant issues on the forum"s agenda. Al-Jubeir also met in Riyadh on Monday with Janez Lenarcic, European Union (EU) Commissioner for Crisis Management, on the sidelines of the 3rd Riyadh International Humanitarian Forum. During the meeting, aspects of the existing cooperation between the Kingdom and the EU were reviewed. They also talked about climate change and its effects while highlighting the importance of tackling this phenomenon as well as the Kingdom"s efforts and initiatives in this area. Al-Jubeir also met in Riyadh on Monday with Andrew Mitchell, minister of state in the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office for Development and Africa, on the sidelines of the 3rd Riyadh International Humanitarian Forum. During the meeting, aspects of the existing cooperation between the two countries were reviewed. They also reviewed several issues of common interest and discussed the most significant issues on the forum"s agenda. The meeting was attended by several officials. — SPA
