The Saudi government expressed on Tuesday pride in the state’s roots ahead of Founding Day, which falls on Wednesday. Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz chaired the cabinet meeting that was held in Riyadh. The government underscored the deep roots of the Saudi state that go back three centuries. The state has consolidated stability, achieved justice and harmony between its people, and withstood challenges, it added. The state looks forward to a bright future that would be marked by growth and progress to bolster the Kingdom’s pioneering role among nations and peoples across the globe, it stressed. The government highlighted the Kingdom’s participation at the Munich Security Conference. Saudi officials underscored the Kingdom’s keenness on consolidating security and stability, supporting dialogue and peace solutions, ending fighting and protecting civilians, and providing opportunities for peace and development in the region and world. The government noted the Kingdom’s ranking at the top of the Government Electronic and Mobile Services Maturity Index that is issued by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA). The development is a testament to Saudi Arabia’s progress in the field, which has helped improve quality of life, competitiveness and the ease of doing business, and boosted the efficiency of government work.
