NCM: Above average rain expected in most Saudi regions in March

JEDDAH — Most regions of Saudi Arabia are expected to receive higher-than-average rain during the next month of March and there would be a slight increase in the temperature in the spring season, according to the latest forecast of the National Center of Meteorology (NCM). The quarterly report, issued by NCM, forecasts the prevailing and expected weather conditions in the Kingdom during the spring season of this year, including precipitation and surface temperatures. The center expected higher-than-average spring rains in most regions of the Kingdom, while its probability rate increased in the regions of Jazan, Asir, Al-Baha, the high-lands of the Makkah region, Hail and Al-Qassim. The climate forecast for March indicates that rain would be higher than normal in most regions of the Kingdom, and the probability increases in the same month in the regions of Riyadh, Makkah, Hail, Al-Jouf, Al-Baha, Asir and Jazan. Climate forecasts also indicate that the temperature will rise during the coming spring season from its normal rate in all regions of the Kingdom, as it likely to reach one degree Celsius increase in the regions of Riyadh, Madinah, Eastern Province, Hail, Qassim, Al-Jouf, Tabuk, the Northern Border and Najran while it exceeds its normal rate by half a degree in the regions of Makkah, Al-Baha, Asir and Jazan.
