Riyadh, February 08, 2023, SPA -- The Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CSTC) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Middle East Cloud and Digital Transformation Company (CNTXT) on the sidelines of the International Technical Conference "LEAP23" to promote leading cloud services. The memorandum is bound to contribute to the growth of the Kingdom's digital economy, the development of national human resources, and the empowerment of various beneficiary sectors by providing leading, diverse solutions and technologies to accelerate innovation and support the digital transformation process. The MoU was signed by CSTC representative, Deputy Governor of the Information Technology and Emerging Technologies Sector Eng. Raed Al-Fayez, and CNTXT representative, CEO Eng. Abdullah Jarwan. According to CSTC, the MoU seeks to develop the cloud computing sector by attracting valuable technology companies known as independent software vendors (ISVs), to be hosted in the public cloud computing environment inside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and serve various sectors. These companies would also help develop national human resources and achieve development and economic goals stipulated in the Kingdom's Vision 2030. In the course of three years, the MoU will reach out to more than 100 ISVs, and is expected to attract some 25 of them to the Saudi market. The move will also contribute to the development of more than 500 specialists from among the national cadres, and offer more than 120 cooperative training opportunities to those wishing to acquire the necessary skills in cooperation with these specialized companies. CSTC undertakes the organization and development of the cloud computing sector and comes up with regulatory and incentive initiatives and tools that promote the development of this promising sector. CNTXT is a joint venture between Saudi Aramco and the Norwegian company COGNITE, and the exclusive Google Cloud partner in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. --SPA 15:59 LOCAL TIME 12:59 GMT 0015 www.spa.gov.sa/w1851569
