Cairo, 20 May 2019 SPA -- An official source at the Arab League announced that the League circulated yesterday the invitation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to Arab leaders to hold an emergency Arab summit in Makkah on May 30 to discuss the attacks on commercial ships in the territorial waters of the United Arab Emirates and the attack by terrorist Houthi militias, backed by Iran, against two oil pumping stations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and their serious implications on regional and international peace and security and the supply and stability of world oil markets. The source explained that this procedure comes within the framework of the implementation of the text of Article (3) of the annex to the periodic convening of the Council of the League at the summit level, which stipulates that the Council meets regularly, in regular session once a year in March, and if necessary or the emergence of developments related to the Arab National Security, it shall hold extraordinary sessions if one of the member states submits a request for this and is approved by two-thirds of the member states. -- SPA 15:06 LOCAL TIME 12:06 GMT 0013 www.spa.gov.sa/w1105275
