Health Minister: No Epidemic or Quarantine Cases Recored This Hajj Season so far

Arafat, Outskirts of Makkah, Saudi Arabia, Dhu-AlHijjah 09, 1439, August 20, 2018, SPA -- Minister of Health Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah confirmed that no incidence of any epidemic diseases or quarantine cases recorded among pilgrims for this Hajj season so far. Health Minister assured that the Ministry of health (MOH) has provided preventive services, via access points, to pilgrims. He pointed out that during this year’s Hajj, hospitals of Makkah and Madinah continue to provide health specialized services to pilgrims, and performed 71 cardiac catheterizations, 17 open-heart surgeries, 1,270 dialysis sessions, and six birth cases. Health Minister said that MOH focuses on the priorities of preventive services to pilgrim, and follows up the developments and changes of health situation globally, in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) and other international health bodies. -- SPA 19:40 LOCAL TIME 16:40 GMT 0017 www.spa.gov.sa/w736359
