Beijing, Rabi'I 9, 1437, Dec 20, 2015, SPA -- At least 27 people are missing after a landslide in the southern Chinese city of Shenzhen buried multiple buildings and caused at least one to collapse, the Chinese news agency Xinhua reported Sunday. Earlier reports had placed the number of missing people at 41. State-run Xinhua said that three people have been saved so far. The disaster was focused on an industrial park north-east of the city and involved at least 18 buildings. The one that collapsed was five storeys tall. Authorities said that at least 22 buildings had been buried or destroyed by the mud, including several factories. Around 900 residents were evacuated from the buildings in a 100,000-square-metre area before the landslide, according to reports. A 1,500-strong rescue mission had been deployed to look for survivors. The cause of the landslide was unclear, dpa reported. --SPA 18:02 LOCAL TIME 15:02 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
