Minsk, Dhu-AlHijjah 28, 1436, October 12, 2015, SPA -- The president of Belarus won re-election to a fifth term, according to preliminary results Monday, dpa reported. Alexander Lukashenko, won 83.49 per cent of the vote in Sunday's election, the state-run news agency Belta reported, citing the electoral commission. The turnout was 86.75 per cent, with around 7 million people registered to vote. Lukashenko, 61, has ruled the country since 1994.
