Saudi Press: Credit Rating Agency Confirms Saudi Arabia’s Rating at A1

Riyadh, May 3, 2020, SPA -- Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional, and international arenas. Al-Riyadh and Al-Bilad newspapers said in their editorials that the credit rating agency “Moody's” confirmed Saudi Arabia’s rating at A1, despite the effects of the Coronavirus pandemic. The papers said that the Saudi economy has proven its strength and its ability to absorb external shocks caused by the Coronavirus pandemic and its impacts on countries ’resources, the global economy, and the oil markets that witnessed a decline in demand. The newspapers added that during these difficult circumstances due to the impacts of Coronavirus pandemic, the results of Saudi Arabia’s economic policies seem positive. The papers said that the diversification of resources, availability of liquidity, and the role of the Public Investment Fund in enhancing the state's resources strength Saudi Arabia’s financial performance to meet the urgent challenges since the emergence of the global pandemic. Al-Yuam newspaper said in its editorial that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is keen to support the friendly countries in the Arab and Islamic worlds as a consistent approach under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense. The paper said that in light of the current exceptional circumstances and the effects around the world due to the Coronavirus (Covid 19) pandemic, the assistance and generosity of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are still continuing to find their way for the various beneficiaries in those countries and peoples.
