KSrelief Establishes Early Warning Center in Mogadishu, Concludes Project to Support Somali Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs

Mogadishu, Mar. 28, 2022, SPA -- Riyadh-based King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has concluded a project to support capacity building of the Somalian Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, in partnership with the World Food Program (WFP), it was reported today. The project, which was launched yesterday, aimed at building the capacities of the ministry's staff, improving its operational skills to fulfill humanitarian work and manage disasters in Somalia, and strengthening regional humanitarian centers, in addition to establishing an early warning center. Director KSrelief Branch in Africa Yusuf Bakheet Rahma, joined by the WFP Deputy Regional Director, Lara Fossi, visited the Somalian Ministry’s Early Warning Center, where they were briefed by the Director-General of the Ministry Mohammed Wali, on the operations of the headquarters, its various departments and the mechanism of monitoring and follow-up of the early warning systems, data analysis unit, information gathering and others. --SPA 23:33 LOCAL TIME 20:33 GMT 0037 www.spa.gov.sa/w1713755
