Riyadh, August 28, 2019, SPA -- Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in cooperation with the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation, organized today a workshop in the presence of Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technology Engineer Haitham bin Abdulrahman Al-Ohali and Russian Deputy Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media Mikhail Mamonov, with participation of more than 53 Saudi and Russian technology companies, as well as several government agencies from both sides related to the communications and information technology sector. The workshop aims at enhancing technical and economic cooperation opportunities and highlighting investment opportunities available to both sides to serve the common development goals of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Russian Federation, and stimulating technology companies in both countries to play a bigger role in developing bilateral relations. Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technology affirmed that the Kingdom and Russia are full of promising investment opportunities in this vital and important field, calling for joining efforts and elevating this partnership to higher levels where the outputs are satisfactory to the aspirations of the leaderships and peoples of the two countries. During the workshop, the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority (SAGIA) reviewed investment opportunities in the Kingdom in the field of communications and information technology and how to support it in facilitating procedures for investors. On the sidelines of the workshop, a government meeting was held between the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and its Russian counterpart, in which the two sides discussed ways to enhance joint cooperation in the field of communication and information technology, and opportunities for joint investment in the digital field, to achieve growth and prosperity in this vital and important sector in order to accelerate the steps to achieve the comprehensive digital transformation in the Kingdom. --SPA 14:50 LOCAL TIME 11:50 GMT 0009 www.spa.gov.sa/w1162409
