Jeddah, Muharram 2, 1440, Sep 12, 2018, SPA -- Islamic Cooperation Organization (OIC) called here today, on the United States administration to reconsider a decision to close the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) office, in Washington, stressing that this decision does not serve the chances of achieving peace and, instead, contradicts the responsibilities of the United States of America, as a superpower. United States has sponsored the peace negotiations between the Palestinians and the Israelis and has played a pivotal role, in advancing the peace process, OIC statement stressed, adding that the United States is, eagerly, expected to review its recent positions, which will only help to move away from the desired peace. The Organization reiterated support for PLO, the legitimate and sole representative of the Palestinian people, in their efforts to find a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian question and to restore the rights of the Palestinian people, by all means, provided by international legitimacy and, in accordance with the purposes and resolutions of the United Nations Charter, the statement concluded. -- SPA 18:15 LOCAL TIME 15:15 GMT 0033 www.spa.gov.sa/w748161
