Brussels, Safar 09, 1437, November 21, 2015, SPA -- Belgian authorities decided to suspend the subway traffic completely in the capital, Brussels, a move taken after the Crisis Center in the country raised early this morning the status of alert in Brussels to the maximum degree, indicating "serious and imminent" threat. In remarks to Radio Belgium (RTBF), a spokeswoman for the company (ST IBM), the operator of the subway, said that the metro would not open its doors this morning. He added that "the metro will remain suspended until the end of the operation later today" and then the authorities will decide whether the closing will continue on Sunday. On the other hand, most of buses traffic continued this morning in Brussels and air traffic went on natural image. Furthermore, the authorities announced intensifying security patrols in the vicinity of sensitive facilities, closure of all metro stations in Brussels, ban of direct gatherings and soccer matches.
