Taraweeh Prayer Performed at Grand Mosque on First Night of Holy Month of Ramadan

Makkah, April 13, 2021, SPA -- In an overwhelming spirituality and an atmosphere full of faith, worshipers today performed the first Taraweeh prayer at the Grand Mosque on the first night of Ramadan, while adhering to all precautionary measures and health protocols. Only immunized individuals who applied for and received a permit through the Tawakkalna application were allowed into the mosque to perform Taraweeh and in accordance with immunization categories; (Immune Person who received two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine / Immune Person after 14 days of receiving the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine / Immune Person who has recovered from the infection). The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque intensified disinfection, sterilization, and operation efforts, in addition to the distribution of disposable Zamzam water bottles to the visitors and the worshippers. The General Presidency also supervised the movement inside the Grand Mosque, opening the gates of the Grand Mosque, organizing entry and exit of visitors, identifying paths allocated for persons with disabilities, among many other services. Moreover, the Presidency is managing the movement inside the Grand Mosque and its squares through observers distributed on the main and secondary corridors in order to ensure a successful flow of worshippers and visitors between different sections of the Grand mosque and at the same time abide by precautionary and preventive measures inside Mosque. The Presidency has recruited more than 100 gate observers to receive worshipers and direct them to the designated places and has intensified the services of providing water to visitors and worshipers and in accordance with health protocols. The Presidency have prepared a plan and a mechanism under which the number of water containers was increased to 27,000, distributed by special vehicles. The General Presidency was keen to maintain that sterilization operations around the clock and around 5,000 liters of disinfectant material were used to sterilize all surfaces and floors in order to create a healthy and pandemic-free atmosphere, in addition to deploying more than 45 field teams to work 24 hours to sterilize the Grand Mosque and its external squares and distribute more than 300 high-quality hand sterilizing devices. --SPA 00:12 LOCAL TIME 21:12 GMT 0001 www.spa.gov.sa/w1541897
