In Partnership with Nazaha, UNODC Starts Implementing Riyadh Initiative to Create Global Network of Anti-Corruption Authorities Around the World

Riyadh, March 3, 2021, SPA -- The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), in partnership with the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha), organized virtually today, the first meeting of the workings of the experts group on establishing the Riyadh Initiative network aimed at enhancing international anti-corruption law enforcement cooperation. The participating experts will discuss a number of issues and develop mechanisms to implement the Riyadh Initiative. The features of this initiative are establishing a global anti-corruption law enforcement authorities operational network, establishing a global platform to facilitate the exchange of information between anti-corruption law enforcement authorities, and launching a capacity-building program within the network for anti-corruption authorities’ workforces, especially in developing countries. Riyadh Initiative for enhancing international anti-corruption law enforcement cooperation, was welcomed by the G20 leaders, in the G20 Riyadh Summit Leaders Declaration, which was held under the chairmanship of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
