Kabul, Safar 07, 1437, November 19, 2015, SPA -- Taliban militants captured a district in northern Afghanistan, an official said Thursday, and also launched an attack against government forces in a southern district, dpa reported. The insurgents took over the centre of Yamgan district in Badakshan province Wednesday after heavy fighting, said Navid Frotan, the province's governor spokesman. National security forces "are still fighting the insurgents," he said, adding that reinforcements were arriving by air.
