New York, Muharram 16, 1440, September 26, 2018, SPA -- Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen has had talks with President Abdrabbou Mansour Hadi of the Republic of Yemen and his accompanying delegation, on the sidelines of the 73rd Session of the UN General Assembly in New York. During the meeting, they discussed aspects of cooperation and enhancing them in the framework of the OIC's efforts to serve the issues and aspirations of Muslim peoples. The Yemeni President praised the OIC's positive stances in supporting Yemen and its efforts in condemning the crimes of the Houthi militias, the damage inflicted on the Yemeni people and the threat of neighboring countries. For his part, Dr. Al-Othaimeen affirmed that the OIC will continue to support Yemen's efforts and legitimate leadership to overcome its current challenges and forces of rebellion and coup that undermine the security and stability of Yemen. The OIC Secretary General also met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Salahuddin Rabbani, who praised the success of the Muslim Scholars Conference on Peace and Stability in Afghanistan hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia last July.
