Geneva, May 07, 2021, SPA -- The United World and the International Trade Center (ITC) signed here today a three-year partnership to launch an initiative titled “Sports for Development” under which 1,000 individuals from across the globe will be trained in a number of sports-related fields. At the ITC's headquarters in Geneva, the partnership is co-signed by Abdullah Al-Ghamdi, CEO of the United World (UW), which is owned by Prince Abdullah bin Musaed bin Abdulaziz, and Pamela Coke-Hamilton, Executive Director of the International Trade Centre (ITC). The United World, which includes 5 clubs: Sheffield United of England, Birchkot of Belgium, Chateauroux of France, Hilal United of the UAE, and Kerala United of India, is partnering with the ITC in this initiative in order to achieve the goals of sport and peace and to enhance the social responsibility. For his part, CEO Al-Ghamdi said the partnership comes within the group's belief in the importance of social responsibility and said: "It is important to contribute to the development of societies through training and development. This partnership will give the group the opportunity to reach out to a larger group of young people and contribute to the development of their skills and sports projects." "Sport in the group's dictionary is not only related to football. Rather, there are social aspects that teach us more important lessons that motivate us to apply them in various aspects of life," he added. Meanwhile, Pamela Coke-Hamilton, Executive Director of the International Trade Centre (ITC), indicated that the center seeks to boost joint sport-related activities with the group, affirming their confidence that the group is able to reach the target areas and achieve the goals of the “Sports for Development” program, promote economic growth and train athletes.
