The Spokesman of the center confirmed the center's rapid and orderly response to the humanitarian needs in the liberated areas in Yemen. The center's teams succeeded in delivering relief aid to the newly liberated areas, most notably Hamli and Assilan. He said that the center has observed a decrease in suspected cases of cholera and that medical reports indicate some cases of diphtheria in Yemen. As a result, the center will soon sign a contract with UNICEF in coordination with the Yemeni Ministry of Public Health and Population for $ 4 million to support the routine vaccination program including diphtheria. He stressed the center's keenness on decentralization in humanitarian work inside Yemen. Therefore, the center called on international organizations to expand the spread between five Yemeni governorates and not to be concentrated in Sana'a only. "We are following with great concern the reports that international organizations are forced to evacuate their employees after increasing security concerns in Sanaa amid the growing liquidation of dissidents and armed clashes, which confirms the importance of the presence of the offices of international organizations in different governorates inside Yemen to ensure continuity of work, The Center calls on the humanitarian organizations working in Yemen to monitor and report on these violations and to take appropriate measures to ensure the reduction of these violations," he said. The spokesman of the center stressed that the Houthi militias impose a siege on some areas in Yemen such as Taiz and Sanaa, preventing the arrival of relief aid and commercial goods to them. He called on the United Nations and organizations working in Yemen to ensure the humanitarian assistance access to all besieged areas, pointing out that the center is following up what is suffered by the civilians in the area of Ghouta and the province of Idlib and rural Hama from deliberate shelling which led to the displacement of at least 75 thousand civilians, noting that the center seeks to implement an urgent relief program in those areas through partners. The center he has set up a number of projects in refugee camps in Bangladesh, covering the food and shelter sectors and signing a number of projects in the health, water and environmental sanitation sector. Dr. Al-Jataili said at the end of his statement that the center is about to complete a study of the humanitarian situation in Iraq, and will soon begin the implementation of a number of projects in areas in need. --SPA 22:52 LOCAL TIME 19:52 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w583421
