Mogadishu, Muharram 15, 1437, Oct 28, 2015, SPA -- A cargo plane crash landed 30 kilometres south of Mogadishu on Wednesday in territory controlled by the militant group al-Shabaab, a local official and witnesses said. The 12 passengers on the plane that hit the ground near the town of Afgoye are safe and under the protection of African Union and Somali troops, local official Mohamed Husein Shinea told dpa. "Our troops surrounded the whole area preventing al-Shabaab fighters from approaching at the crash site," he said.
