Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah stressed on Thursday that combating terrorism also demands fighting cybercrimes through international cooperation and effective legislations. Addressing the second session of the G20 foreign ministers' meeting in New Delhi, India, he stressed that Saudi Arabia had adopted several local initiatives within the National Cybersecurity Authority (NCA). Moreover, he highlighted the Kingdom’s pioneering role in proposing invaluable initiatives, such as the establishment of the Global Center for Combating Extremist Ideology (Etidal). He underlined the Kingdom's membership in the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) to combat money laundering and financing of terrorism, as well as the Kingdom's membership in the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS. Furthermore, Prince Faisal said Saudi Arabia continues to play a leading role in providing humanitarian and development aid across the globe. He noted the Kingdom’s swift response to last month’s devastating earthquake that struck Syria and Türkiye. Saudi Arabia operated an emergency air bridge and organized a donation campaign to help the victims of the quake. He added that the Kingdom recently hosted the Third Riyadh International Humanitarian Forum in cooperation with the United Nations. The forum discussed means to boost collective humanitarian efforts, such as partnerships, assessments, localization, and achieving sustainable development goals. Prince Faisal held several meetings with his counterparts from around the world during his participation in the G20 meetings. He met US Secretary of State Antony Blinken for talks on regional and international developments. They exchanged views on the Russian-Ukrainian crisis and international efforts exerted towards it. They also tackled means to intensify joint work to consolidate international security and peace. Prince Faisal held separate meetings with his counterparts from China, Egypt, Singapore, Argentina and Spain. The talks focused on the strategic bilateral ties with Saudi Arabia and ways to bolster them as part of their strategic partnership. They also addressed regional and international developments of interest.
