Syrias transport ministry said on Tuesday it would re-route flights carrying earthquake aid following an overnight aerial attack that put the airport in the northern city of Aleppo out of commission. It said flights would now land in either the capital Damascus or the coastal province of Latakia. Dozens of planes carrying aid from the Middle East, Europe and further afield have landed in Syria following the devastating Feb. 6 earthquakes. Syrian state media said Israeli warplanes carried out the attack on Aleppo International Airport while flying over the Mediterranean Sea. The Israeli military declined to comment. Syria said the strike “caused material damage to the airport and put it out of service."
