Rehanne Skinner has been sacked as Tottenham’s manager after nine successive Women’s Super League defeats left the club in danger of relegation. Spurs beat Brighton 8-0 in late October but have since lost every league game and exited the Continental Cup and FA Cup. Skinner was appointed in November 2020, leaving her role as the England Women assistant coach to take over from Karen Hills and Juan Amoros. She inherited a team second from bottom and leaves with the club third from bottom, two points above last-placed Leicester, who play at Tottenham on Wednesday. Spurs said Skinner’s assistant Vicky Jepson would take charge for that game. Spurs finished fifth last season and reached the semi-finals of the Continental Cup. Skinner’s final match was a 2-1 defeat at promoted Liverpool. The managing director, Andy Rogers, said: “Rehanne has played an integral role in our development in the women’s game, both on and off the field. She has carried out her duties with the utmost professionalism and attention to detail, and we should like to thank her for everything she has done.”
