Al-Mutairi highlights Saudi Arabia's business environment at WEF forum in Geneva

A senior Saudi official highlighted reforms in the Kingdom"s business environment during the 2023 Industry Strategy Forum organized by the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Geneva. Dr. Eiman Al-Mutairi, Vice Minister of Commerce and CEO of the National Competitiveness Center (NCC), reviewed the impact of the economic reforms implemented by Saudi Arabia to enhance the global competitiveness of its business environment. Al-Mutairi explained that the transformation in the Kingdom came under the directives and follow-up of the wise leadership, citing the launch of numerous advanced initiatives, programs, and strategies within the Saudi Vision 2030. She noted that there are many signs of progress, including the enhanced participation of Saudi women in economic development. Their current participation rate stands at 37 percent, while the target for 2030 is 30 percent. Al-Mutairi added that the Kingdom is making progress in several fronts, as evidenced by its positive performance in well-known global reports and indicators. The vice minister explained that the number of mega-projects implemented in the Kingdom, the size of investment values, and the increasing number of investors in many economic sectors underscores the success of reforms and their positive impact at global levels. She also spoke about the role of the NCC in developing the business environment in the Kingdom to make it more attractive for investors and in identifying and overcoming challenges and obstacles that face the private sector in cooperation with the government institutions concerned with the business sector. — SPA
