As we celebrate the 23rd of March, Pakistan Day, we are reminded of the immense sacrifices and struggles of our forefathers who strived for the creation of our beloved homeland. This day marks the historic resolution passed in 1940 that paved the way for the establishment of an independent Muslim state in South Asia. On this auspicious occasion, we also pay tribute to our armed forces who have rendered unparalleled sacrifices to safeguard our sovereignty and territorial integrity. Their unwavering commitment to the defense of our nation is a testament to the resilience and determination of the Pakistani nation. As we celebrate this day, we also acknowledge the importance of our strong friendship with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The bonds between our two nations are rooted in shared history, culture and values. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has always been a trusted friend and a key partner in our socioeconomic development and regional stability. I would like to express my sincere gratitude and appreciation to the Pakistani community living in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. They have been serving both nations with utmost honesty, commitment, dedication, zeal and enthusiasm, acting as true ambassadors. Their contribution is invaluable and has helped in strengthening the bond between our two countries. I admire their hard work and dedication toward their cause. We express our sincere gratitude to the Saudi leadership for their continued support and solidarity with Pakistan. We are confident that the strong and enduring fraternal ties between our two nations will continue to flourish and strengthen in the years to come. Let us reiterate our commitment to building a peaceful, prosperous and inclusive Pakistan, and to fostering even closer ties with our Saudi brothers and sisters. Long live Pakistan. Long live Saudi Arabia. Long live Pakistan-Saudi Arabia friendship! Khalid Majid is consul general of Pakistan in Jeddah
