5 tons of expired poultry seized in Riyadh

The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has seized 5 tons of expired poultry of unknown origin in an unlicensed warehouse in Riyadh that stores food products. SFDA confirmed that the warehouse conducted several violations, such as falsifying the production and expiry dates as they used to re-pack the poultry in the warehouse with new dates. Additionally, several technical and health violations, as well as the presence of workers who do not have health certificates. The SFDA has closed the warehouse and destroyed all the seized products, in addition to completing the regular procedures against the facility. This was done in cooperation with the Riyadh Municipality, the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Human resources and Social Development, as well as the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA). SFDA has called on all the consumers to report on the violated establishments which are subjected to its supervision through calling the unified number: 19999, or through the Tameni app.
