Eng. Rayan Al-Harbi, operations manager of the Haramain High-Speed Train Project, said a total of 84 trips will be operated daily between Makkah and Jeddah. Speaking to Okaz/Saudi Gazette, he said the ticket price in economy class will be SR23 per trip. Al-Harbi said the goal of this attractive price is to facilitate the residents of Jeddah to perform the Umrah pilgrimage by making the Sulaymaniyah station as the first choice for the services provided by the Haramain Train. There will be bus services to transport pilgrims from the Makkah"s Rusaifa station to the Grand Mosque. Trips between Makkah and Madinah and the rest of the stations will be increased during the peak Umrah season in Ramadan, after all stations have been equipped with the facilities to serve the Umrah pilgrims. The Haramain High-Speed Railway management has increased the number of daily train trips between Makkah and Madinah to more than 100 during the holy month of Ramadan. Haramain Train is witnessing an increasing turnout of visitors and pilgrims from the Grand Mosque in Makkah and the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah, as well as visitors to the city of Jeddah and King Abdullah Economic City, through five stations that have been equipped with full services. The railway, which connects Makkah and Madinah via Jeddah and Rabigh, has so far operated more than 25,000 trips since its launch, maintaining 95 percent accuracy in the schedule of services.
