The Haramain High Speed Train Project said that the parking fee at the Jeddah Sulaymaniyah railway station has been reduced from SR10 to SR1 per hour for the first five hours during the holy month of Ramadan. The fixed cost of the trip by train to Makkah is SR46 and that is inclusive of parking fees. Speaking to Okaz/Saudi Gazette, the sources said that this move aims to reduce the burden on the vehicle regrouping points at Al-Zaidi parking lots and other designated parking areas at the entrances to Makkah. This also aims to encourage more worshipers to use the train from Sulaymaniyah station so that the residents of Jeddah can complete their travel to Makkah within a short span of time. Upon arrival at the train station in Rusaifa, Makkah, pilgrims and worshipers can take advantage of the public transportation service arranged by the Royal Commission for Makkah City and Holy Sites to carry them from the train station to the Grand Mosque. It is noteworthy that Eng. Rayan Al-Harbi, operations manager of the Haramain High-Speed Train Project, announced earlier on Thursday that a total of 84 trips will be operated daily between Makkah and Jeddah and that ticket prices in economy class have been reduced to SR23 per trip. Al-Harbi said that the goal of this attractive price is to facilitate the residents of Jeddah to perform the Umrah pilgrimage by making the Sulaymaniyah station as the first choice for the services provided by the Haramain Train. The frequency of train trips between Jeddah and Makkah will be increased to 100 per day during the last ten days of the holy month, it was announced.
