RIYADH: Saudi Arabia will launch its annual national campaign for charitable activities on Monday, state news agency (SPA) reported. King Salman had earlier approved the launch of the third edition of the Ramadan campaign. The campaign will enable people to donate using the national Platform for Charitable Work (Ehsan), developed by the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA). Abdullah bin Sharaf Al-Ghamdi, President of SDAIA, said the platform had been upgraded to reach a wider segment of donors who can make their contributions across various charity fields listed online. “The platform presents a secure and trusted payment method to collect donations and facilitate aid to beneficiaries,” said Al-Ghamdi in a statement. Since its launch, the platform has collected more than $880 million that benefitted more than 4.8 million people. Al-Ghamdi said the campaign was part of the Kingdom’s effort to gather aid in efficient and reliable ways and expand the outreach to beneficiaries.
