QPR eased their relegation fears and further damaged West Brom’s fading playoff hopes, as Gareth Ainsworth’s side fought back from 2-0 down to earn a draw at the Hawthorns. After around 200 fans had staged a pre-game protest against the Baggies owner, Guochuan Lai, the hosts appeared to be in control after 15 minutes. Brandon Thomas-Asante broke the deadlock, though his handball on the line was missed by officials. Semi Ajayi made it two after a well-worked free kick, but Rangers hit back quickly. With 22 minutes played, a delicious cross from Ilias Chair was met by Lyndon Dykes who glanced a brilliant header in from 10 yards. QPR grabbed the leveller four minutes into the second half thanks to Josh Griffiths’ gaffe. Chris Martin charged down the goalkeeper’s clearance to score and pick up a priceless point. Long-serving Luton midfielder Pelly-Ruddock Mpanzu scored twice as his third-placed side pushed Blackpool closer to relegation with a 3-1 victory. Andy Lyons had given the Seasiders a shock lead, but Mpanzu’s first goal levelled things on the stroke of half-time. Carlton Morris put the Hatters in front from close range in the 72nd minute, and Mpanzu sealed the points four minutes later with a fine finish into the top corner. Millwall stay fifth but missed the chance to tighten their grip on a playoff spot after falling to a 1-0 defeat at Hull. The visitors dominated the first half, with Oliver Burke hitting the bar, but Liam Rosenior made a triple substitution at the break to change the pattern of the game. The changes paid off as one of those substitutes, Adama Traoré, scored an inspired winner in the 70th minute. The Mali international twisted his way into a good position from 20 yards out before finding the bottom corner, scoring his first goal for the Tigers who now look safe in mid-table. Matt Crooks fired a 64th-minute equaliser as Middlesbrough came back from two goals down to earn a 2-2 draw with Bristol City. The hosts took the lead in first-half stoppage time. Boro failed to deal with a build-up down the right and Harry Cornick’s pass across the edge of the box found Sam Bell racing in from the left to shoot low past Zack Steffen. Cornick doubled the advantage four minutes into the second half, left with a simple tap in from a Nahki Wells cross after Steffen had stretched to parry a Bell shot. Boro replied on 58 minutes, Aaron Ramsey netting with a diving header from a Tommy Smith cross. Six minutes later the visitors were level. Crooks collected a Ramsey pass unmarked inside the box and coolly shot low past Max O’Leary from 10 yards. Sunderland boosted their faint hopes of making the playoffs, and left Cardiff deep in relegation trouble, with a 1-0 victory in South Wales. Dennis Cirkin tapped in from close range just past the hour mark after Alex Pritchard’s free kick had struck the post. The Bluebirds drop to 21st place, one point above Reading. In the early kick-off, Blackburn came from two goals down to draw 2-2 against resurgent Huddersfield, picking up a point in their bid to secure a playoff place. Neil Warnock’s side found themselves 2-0 up inside the first 22 minutes of the game. Matty Pearson notched his fourth goal in three games before Jack Rudoni doubled the hosts’ advantage. The visitors were handed a lifeline by Joe Rankin-Costello’s impressive strike early in the second half, and substitute Ryan Hedges converted on the rebound in stoppage time to secure a draw. Preston moved level with sixth-placed Blackburn as Brad Potts’ injury-time header secured a 2-1 win against relegation-threatened Reading. Ryan Lowe’s side dominated the first half but had to wait until the 56th minute for the breakthrough, Tom Cannon slotting home his fourth goal in three games. Paul Ince’s side then stunned the hosts with an 83rd-minute leveller, as substitute Kelvin Ehibhatiomhan looped a header over Freddie Woodman from a long throw. Preston responded and Potts darted in to head home Andrew Hughes’ cross with seconds remaining at Deepdale. Coventry and Watford played out an entertaining 2-2 draw at the CBS Arena that did little for either side’s playoff hopes. The visitors started the stronger, going ahead through João Pedro in the sixth minute and repeatedly threatening on the break, before Imran Louza struck on the rebound to make it 2-0 just before half-time. Ben Wilson denied the visitors a third after the resumption, before Matthew Godden curled home to pull one back for Coventry. Ben Sheaf’s back-post header levelled the scores and the hosts felt they should have had a penalty when Brooke Norton-Cuffy appeared to be tripped in the area late on. Elsewhere, Joel Piroe’s first-half double for Swansea at the DW Stadium pushed bottom club Wigan closer to the drop. Norwich’s top-six hopes took a knock as they were held to a stalemate at home to Rotherham, while mid-table Birmingham and Stoke played out a goalless draw at St Andrews.
