Four foreigners, including a Moroccan woman, were arrested for their involvement in the smuggling of huge cache of narcotic pills in Riyadh. Maj. Muhammad Al-Nujaidi, spokesman of the General Directorate of Narcotics Control (GDNC), announced the seizure of 3.6 million amphetamine tablets hidden in a shipment of potatoes. He said the arrested expatriates included two Jordanians, a Moroccan woman, and two others — a Syrian and an Egyptian who arrived in the Kingdom on a visit visa. Al-Nujaidi said they were arrested while receiving the consignment of drugs in Riyadh. The criminals were referred to the Public Prosecution after taking preliminary legal measures against them. It is noteworthy that the GDNC implements many protective programs among its staff and society including Saudis and non-Saudis. The administration organizes campaigns against addiction to narcotics amongst the younger generations, showing them the harmful effects of addiction to narcotics.
