Over 2.5 million worshippers gathered to perform the Isha and Taraweeh prayers and witness the completion of the Holy Quran recitation at the Grand Mosque in Makkah. In line with the directives of the Saudi leadership, the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophets Mosque mobilized all its capabilities through an integrated operating system and provided all necessary arrangements to ensure the safety and comfort of Umrah performers, enabling them to spend their time in tranquillity and serenity. Sheikh Abdurahman Al-Sudais, head of the Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques, led the prayers at the Grand Mosque. The mosque began to fill with people in the early hours of the day. Al-Sudais, called on God to protect the Kingdom and all Muslim countries from evil and bless them with stability and safety.
