The donations of the national campaign for charitable work (Ehsan) in its third edition have reached more than SR757 million by the end of the holy month of Ramadan. Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and the Crown Prince had made two generous donations totaling SR70 million during the opening of the third edition, which was launched on the 19th of Ramadan. The total transactions so far reached more than 67 million, benefiting over 4.8 million men and women beneficiaries. People were able to donate in more than 23 charitable fields, such as educational, social, religious, health, nutritional and housing fields. Ehsan said that the operations of Zakat Al-Fitr in the last two days of Ramadan amounted to more than SR1.7 million zakat, bringing the total donations of the platform so far to more than SR3 billion and 900 million. Zakat Al-Fitr is a charity given to the poor in Ramadan and is a must for each and every Muslim, adult or minor, male or female. The Ehsan platform is characterized by the fact that it enjoys continuous support from the Saudi leadership to empower its work to be according to solid governance that is supervised by 12 government agencies as a supervisory committee. These advantages are in addition to the fact that it has a Shariah committee that makes sure that the platform’s activities comply with the provisions of Islamic Shariah.
