Egypt is hinging on an expected increase in tourists during summer, as authorities seek $30 billion annually. Egyptian authorities confirmed Sunday that the number of inbound tourists is expected to increase, aiming for a "boom" in tourism revenues. Fitch Solutions expects an increase in tourist arrivals to Egypt in 2023 and up to 2026. It forecasts Egypts tourism revenues to grow by 17.7 percent to hit $13.6 billion in 2023. Tourism revenues are also expected to reach $17.9 billion by the end of 2026. Head of the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion Amr el-Qadi expected an increase in the number of tourists as of June. Qadi stated that the promotional campaign "Your Expectations are History," launched by the authority in March, will continue until June. The campaign comes as part of the new media strategy adopted by the authority to promote tourist destinations. He explained that the integrated promotional campaign targets the main tourist markets of Egypt, such as Germany, England, Italy, the US, Gulf states, Russia, Poland, the Czech Republic, France, and Spain. It addresses all tourist categories from the primary and new markets and promotes the diversity and richness of Egyptian tourism products. Egypt aims to increase tourism numbers to 30 million annually by 2028. The Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Ahmed Issa, had expected the number of tourists during this year to reach 15 million.
