Japan-UAE Foreign Ministers’ discuss Sudan situation

Hayashi requested UAE’s cooperation in ensuring safety of Japanese citizens in Sudan TOKYO: Japan’s Foreign Minister Hayashi Yoshimasa, held a telephone talk with Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the UAE on April 24. According to the foreign ministry in Tokyo, Minister Hayashi stated that he is monitoring the situation in Sudan with grave concern and that Japan calls on all actors to cease the violence immediately. Hayashi also requested the UAE’s cooperation in ensuring the safety of Japanese citizens in Sudan. In response, Sheikh Abdullah stated that the UAE is ready to fully cooperate with Japan’s request and explained the ongoing efforts by the UAE. The two ministers confirmed that they will continue close coordination.
