Public sector employees in Saudi Arabia returned to work on Wednesday, Shawwal 6, corresponding to April 26, at the end of the Eid Al-Fitr holidays. Work resumed in the Saudi local banks and money exchanges on Tuesday after the Eid Al-Fitr holidays. Trading in the Saudi stock market also resumed on that day. The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (MHRSD) had announced a four-day holiday for both private sector employees and non-profit organizations to mark the Eid Al Fitr celebrations. The holiday started after the end of the working day on Thursday, April 20. The ministry stated earlier that the employer must adhere to the provisions of the second paragraph of Article 24 of the executive regulations of the Labor Law with regard to granting the Eid holidays.
