Royal Saudi Naval Forces conduct 19 evacuation operations from Sudan

The Royal Saudi Naval Forces conducted a total of 19 maritime evacuation operations from Sudan since conflicts began in the country on April 15, it was reported on Friday. The evacuation operations rescued Saudi citizens as well as nationals of brotherly and friendly countries stranded in Sudan. RSNF spokesman Colonel Ali bin Hassan Al Ali explained that the navy ships that carried out the evacuation operations with the support of the other branches of the armed forces were HMS Jubail, HMS Diriyah, HMS Riyadh, HMS Makkah, HMS Abha, HMS Taif, and HMS Yanbu, in addition to the civilian ship Amana. Al Ali stressed that these operations were a continuation of the humanitarian efforts made by the Kingdom under the guidance and follow-up of the leadership, which mobilized all capabilities and efforts to protect and transfer to safety citizens and nationals of brotherly and friendly countries that sought the Kingdom"s help in evacuating their nationals to safe places. He said the success of the armed forces, especially the navy, in carrying out humanitarian evacuations highlighted their readiness and ability to deal with any emergency in accordance with the highest levels of accuracy and efficiency. So far, the Kingdom has evacuated 7839 people from Sudan since the start of the evacuation operations. They included 247 citizens and 7592 others belonging to 110 nationalities.
