DUBAI: Austrian Egyptian actress and writer Amira El-Sayed has joined the cast of HBO’s upcoming six-episode series “Spy/Master.” For the latest updates, follow us on Instagram @arabnews.lifestyle The show, premiering May 19, is set during the height of the Cold War and covers a week in the life of fictional character Victor Godeanu, the right-hand man of, and closest advisor to, Romanian dictator Nicolae Ceausescu. Godeanu, though, is also secretly a KGB agent, and must escape Romania and Ceausescu before his cover is blown. The show is directed by British filmmaker Christopher Smith and created by Adina Sadeanu and Kirsten Peter. It received a Berlinale Series Award this year for its first two episodes. El-Sayed, who is based in Germany, is set to appear in five episodes. The actress, who grew up in Alexandria, previously starred alongside US movie star Tom Hanks in the 2016 film “A Hologram for the King.”
