The Saudi Toward Space exhibition, running until June 1, is rife with activities that include workshops for children, both manual and electronic, employing fun-learning approach in Riyadh. The workshops, which have attracted many children, entail space drawings, assembling spacecraft models, and electronic board games in which children ride vehicles that launch into space to explore it in a fun, educational way, among other exciting and enriching activities. Great demand has been witnessed for test flying and taking off into space of a FA-18 plane model. Specialists are present to assist in flying and give information about the plane to children and parents. The Saudi Space Commission (SSC) provided a massive theater where various ongoing scientific programs on science, space science, and chemistry are shown, enabling parents and children alike to learn about these sciences and their educational prospects. Through such exhibitions, SSC seeks to heighten interest in the space sector and inspire the next generation to work in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), by providing age-appropriate activities and keeping people updated on the details of the Saudi historic science mission at the International Space Station (ISS). Saudi Toward Space exhibitions are held in Riyadh, Jeddah and Dhahran, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., and 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. in the period May 21 to June 1 in Riyadh, and on June 2 in the other two cities, to coincide with the launch of the Saudi mission into space. — SPA
